Location: Fairlfield Park, Amherstview.
Everyone is invited to join the family fun at Fairfield Park, Loyalist Parkway, Amherstview on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The festivities will include face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, BBQ lunch and of course, Scarecrow Building.
The Fairfield Fall Festival is an annual event hosted by Loyalist Township Recreation Department, and supported by generous donations from Glen Supply and Pepsi Co. Last year, over 125 scarecrows were built and on display. This year, Loyalist Township is prepared to provide 150 frames for families to build their scarecrows.
There is no admission fee to participate in this event, but families are encouraged to bring articles of clothing to dress their scarecrow. Frames, burlap, twine and hay will be provided.
The Amherstview Jets will be selling barbequed hamburgers and hotdogs, and the Fairfield Homestead Association will also be selling apples and treats. Families are encouraged to support these non-profit organizations.
